Submission Guidelines

We are excited to read your work! The Wiregrass Review is dedicated to showcasing the creativity and talent of young writers and artists. 

Eligibility:

• Coffee
• Covington
• Crenshaw
• Dale
• Geneva
• Henry
• Houston
• Pike

Please include your age and county of residence in your submission email.

We welcome submissions in the following categories:

Fiction – Up to 3,500 words.
Nonfiction – Up to 3,500 words. Personal essays, memoir, and creative nonfiction welcome.
Poetry – Submit 3 to 6 poems in a single document.
Art & Photography – Please submit up to 5 high-resolution images in .JPEG or .PNG format.

Formatting Guidelines

All written submissions should be formatted in a readable font such as Times New Roman, Garamond, Georgia, or Arial.
Use a 12-point font size.
Double-space fiction and nonfiction submissions; poetry may be single-spaced.
Include a header on each page with your name and email address.

Please use page numbers.
Begin each new poem on a new page.

Please submit all writing (.pdf, .doc) and all art (.JPEG, .PNG) in one document. 

Bio Requirement

Please include a short third-person bio (3-5 sentences) with your submission. This should mention your interests, background, and anything you'd like readers to know about you.

Original Work Policy

We only accept unpublished work, including work that has not appeared on social media, blogs, or personal websites.

Simultaneous Submissions

We accept simultaneous submissions, but please notify us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.

How to Submit

• Attach your submission as a .docx or .pdf file.
• Include your bio in the body of the email.
• Send submissions to: submissions@thewiregrassreview.com with the subject line: [Genre] Submission – [Your Name] (e.g., Poetry Submission – Jane Doe).
